Please read these Terms carefully before using this website or any tool on it. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please stop using the site.

1. Who we are and what we do

Finance for Every Family provides free educational and informational content about life insurance, financial protection and retirement-related topics, together with free calculators and estimators. Everything here is offered for education. Nothing is sold on this site.

Insurance and related products may only be offered by appropriately licensed individuals, and no product recommendation is made to anyone before a proper personal review.

2. Educational purpose only — nothing here is advice

All content, tools, figures and conversations offered through this site are for general education. Nothing on this site is, or should be treated as, legal, tax, accounting, investment, insurance or fiduciary advice, and no advisory, fiduciary or agency relationship is created by your use of it.

Your situation is specific to you. Please speak with a licensed insurance producer, a qualified tax adviser and an attorney before acting on anything you read here.

3. The calculators

This site hosts free tools, including an indexed universal life calculator and a term life estimator. Each carries its own disclosures, which you accept before using it. In summary:

• Their output is hypothetical and approximate. It is not a quote, not an offer, and not an insurance illustration within the meaning of any state insurance illustration regulation.
• No insurance company has seen your details, priced your risk or offered you anything, and no coverage is in force as a result of using them.
• Figures depend on assumptions. Your health class is assumed rather than underwritten, and that is the largest single source of error.
• Your actual costs and values will differ, and may differ materially.

4. No guarantees

We make no guarantee of any financial result, income, investment performance, insurance approval, policy issuance, premium rate, credited interest rate, tax treatment or other outcome. Past performance does not predict future results.

5. Insurance specifics

Insurance coverage exists only when a policy has been applied for, underwritten, issued and paid for. Approval and pricing depend on underwriting factors including health, medical history, age, build, occupation, hobbies, travel, driving record and financial justification. Any illustration or projection is hypothetical unless it is a carrier-issued document that says otherwise.

6. Your information and consent to be contacted

If you submit your details through a form on this site, you consent to be contacted by Finance for Every Family by email, telephone or text message at the details you provide, including by automated means where permitted by law, about the topics you raised. Consent is not a condition of any purchase, and you may withdraw it at any time. Message and data rates may apply. How we handle your information is set out in our Privacy Policy.

Please do not send Social Security numbers, government identification numbers, account numbers or detailed medical records through any form on this site.

7. Accuracy and availability

This site and its tools are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, currency or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site is free of errors or interruptions, and we may change or withdraw any part of it at any time without notice.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Finance for Every Family and its owners, members, officers, employees, contractors and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, income, savings, coverage, goodwill or opportunity, arising out of or relating to your access to, use of, or inability to use this site or its tools, or your reliance on anything they produce, whether based in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, statute or otherwise. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited in aggregate to one hundred United States dollars (US$100.00).

9. Your responsibility and indemnity

You are responsible for the accuracy of anything you enter and for every decision you make. You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Finance for Every Family and the persons listed in section 8 from any claim, demand, loss, liability, damage, cost or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of this site, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.

10. Intellectual property

The content, layout, text, tools and code on this site are owned by Finance for Every Family or its licensors. You are granted a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use them for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not resell them, present their output as a carrier quote or illustration, remove or alter any disclosure, or use them in a way that would misrepresent any insurance product.

11. Third-party links and services

This site links to and relies on third-party services, including a form-processing provider and a web font provider. Those services operate under their own terms and privacy policies, which we do not control. We are not responsible for the content or practices of any third-party site.

12. Dispute resolution — arbitration, class action waiver, and how to opt out

Please read this section. It affects how any dispute between us would be resolved.

Except as set out below, any dispute, claim or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms, this site, or its tools shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court. The arbitration will take place in North Carolina, or by telephone or video, or in your home county if you prefer. The arbitrator’s award may be entered as a judgment in any court of competent jurisdiction.

You and Finance for Every Family each waive the right to a jury trial and the right to take part in a class, collective, consolidated or representative action. The arbitrator may not consolidate claims or preside over any form of representative proceeding.

Carve-outs. Either of us may bring an individual claim in small claims court where it qualifies, and either of us may seek injunctive relief in court to protect intellectual property. Nothing in this section limits any right that cannot be waived under applicable law, or prevents you from reporting a concern to your state insurance department or any other regulator.

Your right to opt out. You may reject this arbitration agreement by emailing contact@financeforeveryfamily.org with your name and the words “arbitration opt-out” within 30 days of first using this site. Opting out costs you nothing and does not affect any other part of these Terms.

If the class action waiver in this section is held unenforceable, then this entire arbitration section is void, and any dispute proceeds in court.

13. No reliance

You acknowledge that you are not relying, and it is not reasonable to rely, on any figure, statement or projection produced by this site as a basis for buying, keeping, changing, replacing or surrendering any insurance policy or financial product. Any such decision must be based on carrier-issued documents, the policy contract itself, and advice from a licensed professional who knows your circumstances.

14. Where this site is offered

This site is intended for residents of the United States who are at least eighteen years old. It is not directed to anyone outside the United States, and we make no representation that its content is appropriate or lawful elsewhere. If you access it from another country you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local law.

15. Electronic communications

By using this site or submitting a form, you consent to receive communications from us electronically, and you agree that electronic notices, agreements and disclosures satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remainder stays in force and that provision is modified to the least extent necessary to make it enforceable.

17. Changes

We may update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect when posted unless applicable law requires otherwise, and continued use of the site means you accept them.

18. Entire agreement, no waiver, and assignment

These Terms, together with the disclosures shown inside each tool and our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Finance for Every Family regarding this site, and they replace any earlier understanding on the subject. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it, and no waiver is effective unless in writing. You may not assign or transfer these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.

19. Survival

Sections covering no advice, no guarantees, no warranty, limitation of liability, indemnity, no reliance, dispute resolution and governing law survive any end to your use of this site.
