1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Finance for Every Family (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, discloses and safeguards information obtained through our website, calculators, forms, conversations and related services (together, the “Services”).

By using the Services or submitting information through a form, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy.

2. Scope

This Policy applies to information collected through our website, its calculators, contact forms, and telephone, text and email communications with us. It does not apply to information collected by insurance carriers or other third parties, whose own privacy policies govern their handling of it.

3. Information we collect

• Information you give us directly — your name, email address, telephone number, preferred contact time, and anything you write in a message.
• Information you enter into a calculator — such as date of birth, sex, state, tobacco use, a general description of your health, income, debts, children’s ages and coverage amounts. Please read section 4, because this is handled differently from everything else.
• Communications data — records of emails, calls and text messages between you and us.
• Automatically collected information — IP address, browser type, device information, referring page and usage data, where our host or any analytics we use collects it.

4. What happens to what you type into a calculator

Everything you enter into a calculator is processed in your own browser. It is not sent to us and not stored on any server unless you choose to submit the contact form at the end. If you close the page without submitting that form, your entries are gone.

If you do submit the form, a summary of your answers is sent along with your contact details, so that a conversation can start somewhere useful rather than from nothing. That summary includes the figures you entered and the estimate produced.

We ask you not to send Social Security numbers, government identification numbers, account numbers or detailed medical records through any form on this site, and the forms are not designed to collect them.

5. How we use information

• To respond to your questions and requests;
• To provide, operate and improve the Services;
• To communicate with you about your enquiry, an appointment, or educational material you asked for;
• To send other communications only where you have given consent for them;
• To make a referral to a properly licensed insurance professional where you have asked for one; and
• To comply with law, regulation and legal process.

6. How we share information

We may share information with licensed insurance professionals and carriers for the purpose of providing a conversation or information you have requested. We may share it with service providers who perform functions on our behalf, such as website hosting, form processing, data storage and communications delivery, subject to the restriction in section 7. Our contact forms are processed by Formspree, and our site is hosted by a third-party web host; each handles data under its own terms and privacy policy. And we may disclose it where required by law, regulation, legal process or a governmental request, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Finance for Every Family, our users or others.

We do not sell your personal information.

7. Mobile information and text messaging

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Sharing with subcontractors providing support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

8. Cookies and tracking

Our site may use cookies or similar technologies to operate and to understand usage. You may set your browser to refuse cookies, though some functionality may be affected. The calculators use your browser’s local storage for one purpose only: to remember that you have accepted the terms, so you are not asked twice.

9. Data security

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Data retention

We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described here, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. In practice that usually means enquiry records are kept while a conversation is active and for a period afterwards consistent with insurance record-keeping expectations, after which they are deleted or anonymized. You may ask us to delete your information sooner using the contact details below.

11. Your choices and rights

• Reply STOP to a text message to stop promotional texts.
• Use the unsubscribe link in an email, or write to us, to stop promotional emails.
• Tell us during a call, or write to us, to stop promotional calls.
• We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
• Depending on the state you live in, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to receive a copy of it, to correct it, to have it deleted, and not to be treated differently for exercising any of those rights.

To make a request, email contact@financeforeveryfamily.org with the word “privacy request” and tell us what you would like. We will verify your identity by replying to the email address or telephone number we hold for you, and we aim to respond within forty-five days. You may use an authorized agent, and if you do we may ask for proof of their authority.

12. Children’s privacy

The Services are not directed to anyone under eighteen, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

13. Third-party links

Our site may link to third-party websites or services. This Policy does not apply to them, and we encourage you to review their privacy practices independently.

14. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements or operations. Updates take effect when posted unless applicable law requires otherwise.
